One of the tools that bloggers can use not only to get traffic to their blog but also in order to get ideas of what to blog about, especially if the blog deals with current events, is Technorati.com.
When you visit Technorati.com one of the first things that you see is a list of the top searches. It is a great way to find ideas on what to blog about especially if you want to blog about current events. You could pick one topic from this list or you could blog on several of the topics covered in the top searches.
At the time that I am writing this post some of the top searches for the moment have to do with the following people, places and websites that are in the news: Anna Nicole Smith, Barack Obama, 3gsm, Amanda Marcotte, Yahoo Pipes.

By this time the news is old news. If you are a blogger, a regular MySpace participant, or someone who posts messages and videos to services such as YouTube, or use any similar technologies then according to the Time Magazine December 25, 2006/January 1, 2007 issue, the Person of the Year is you.
This issue of the magazine highlighted the importance of these technologies and how they are changing the face of news, politics, opinion, entertainment, shopping and more.
Companies mentioned in the issue include YouTube, iTunes, Wikipedia, Blogger, LinkedIn, Bloglines, flickr, del.icio.us, Technorati, digg and many others that are in the crossroads either being considered Web 2.0 technology or being what is becoming known as Web 3.0 technology. Indeed the issue highlights many people, who are using these technologies for making a name for themselves. Do you happen to be one of these people? If not maybe you should consider looking into using one of these technologies. Who knows, maybe some time in the near future your story could be featured in Time Magazine.
Web 2.0 is the name given to using social networking, social bookmarking, blogging and sharing of information. There are many sites which fall into this category and many of them will be reviewed in this blog. When used together these technologies can almost rightly be referred to as Web 3.0 technologies.
One so called site is Squidoo and you may find them very helpful in your marketing campaigns. They allow you to build mini-sites which you can monetize in many ways and then they are promoted amongst members of Squidoo. Squidoo also allows you to start groups which members may join and promote their lenses and contribute to.
In fact for the relaunch of this website and this blog I have created a new lens over at Squidoo titled How Blogging Can Help Your Online Presence. Please visit the lens.
In an effort to make this site what I think it should have been all along I am now making the main page of Blog Smart Resources the blog. The old blog still exists at http://www.blogsmart-resources.com/news2 but all new posts will be at this new destination. Thank you for your patience during this changeover.
