Use Feedburner to publicize your blog

Let me tell you about Feedburner and how you can use it to publicize your blog.

If you’ve been involved in blogging for any amount of time and have not registered yourself with Feedburner.com then you are doing yourself and the blogging world a big disservice.

Feedburner was down for awhile until upgrades were made, and they also were acquired by Google which makes them an even more important part of your blogging arsenal.

Feedburner can add a great deal of functionality to your blogs through the following:

You can use Feedburner to publicize your feed and start attracting subscribers. There are several ways to do this. Make it easy to subscribe by doing the following:

* Chickletize your web site. Encourage people to subscribe to your feed by posting a friendly graphic in an easy-to-find location.
* Why confuse would-be subscribers by offering the full menu of RSS and Atom flavors? Consolidate by serving up just one SmartFeed, digestible from any destination.
* Pleased with your circulation stats? Promote them using FeedCount
* For the XML literate, consider using the Awareness API to share your subscriber stats with directories and listings.

You can also use Feedburner to cross promote if you have more than one blog.

* BuzzBoost helps you cross-promote your content by repurposing your feed as go-anywhere HTML.
* If you author some very moving headlines! Promote your content with Headline Animator.

There are many paid plans that allow you to set up email subscriptions to your blog posts. Feedburner does this for free. See the subscription box in the right hand sidebar of Blog Smart Resources? Enter your email there and you will get an email copy of every post.

Feedburner also allows you to analyze your feeds, optimize your feeds and monetize them. With all of these ways in which to use Feedburner to publicize your blog I would suggest looking into using them today.
